Tragic Turn: Startup CEO Suchana Seth’s Instagram Post Hints at Son’s Murder Mystery

In a haunting Instagram post dated October 12, Suchana Seth, a startup CEO, cryptically captioned a photo of a child in front of an aquarium with the hashtag ‘Whatwillhappen’. This post has now become the center of a tragic story, as the 39-year-old woman is accused of murdering her four-year-old son in a service apartment in Goa on January 8 and attempting to flee with his body concealed in a suitcase.

The Instagram post, now inundated with comments, is believed by many to feature Seth’s son, although she did not specify this in the caption. Two individuals, claiming to be Seth’s former neighbors, have expressed shock and disbelief in the comments. They described Seth as a “loving mother,” deeply concerned about her son’s health issues, including breathing difficulties.

One commenter reminisced about the child as the “cutest baby” and lauded Seth for her attentive care, recalling their encounter with the startup CEO three months prior. Another neighbor, who lived near Seth for six months, found it unimaginable that Seth could harm her son, whom she always fretted over regarding his health and well-being.

The revelation of Seth’s alleged crime has left those who knew her stunned, with one user describing the situation as “stranger than fiction”. This user shared memories of exchanging food with Seth, highlighting their common Bengali heritage, and referred to her as a “bookworm” with her own library.

Seth’s Instagram post also included other hashtags like ‘findinglosing’, ‘lifeisbeautiful’, ‘holiday’, and ‘magicofchildhood’. She and her son had been residing in a residential complex on Bengaluru’s Rachanahalli Road until a few months ago.

According to a Hindustan Times report, neighbors characterized Seth as reserved, while her son was known for his love of playing with dogs. Police have discovered a letter written in eyeliner inside the red suitcase used to conceal the child’s body, hinting at a custody battle.

As part of the ongoing investigation, Goa police plan to take Seth to the service apartment to reconstruct the crime scene. Seth, apprehended in Chitradurga, Karnataka, has hinted at a troubled marriage during interrogations. However, the motive behind the murder remains elusive.

The post-mortem report indicates the child was smothered, possibly with a cloth or pillow. Police also found empty cough syrup bottles in the apartment, suggesting the child might have been sedated before the murder. Seth is undergoing psychological evaluation to help uncover the motive behind this heinous act.

This case has sent shockwaves through the community, leaving many to ponder the hidden turmoil behind a seemingly normal social media facade.

Suchana Seth, the CEO of Mindful AI Lab, is embroiled in a harrowing case, accused of murdering her child in a service apartment in Candolim, Goa. The details emerging from the taxi driver, Mr. John, who was unwittingly involved in her escape attempt, paint a chilling picture.

Mr. John recounted how he was called to the service apartment to transport Seth. He described the bag she asked him to carry as unusually heavy. “It was so heavy that we had to drag it to the car,” he said, recalling how Seth declined his suggestion to lighten the load.

During their journey to Bengaluru, Seth spoke only once, requesting a bottle of water in Bicholim town, North Goa. Mr. John also detailed a significant delay at the Chorla ghat section on the Karnataka-Goa border due to a traffic jam. Despite his suggestion to reroute to the airport, Seth insisted on continuing by road.

The plot took a turn when Mr. John received a call from the Goa police, alerting him to his passenger’s suspicious nature. Despite his efforts to locate a police station, it wasn’t until a roadside stop that he discovered one nearby.

“We were close to Bengaluru when I drove to the Aiyamangala police station in Chitradurga district, Karnataka, with a Calangute police official guiding me over the phone,” Mr. John said. He noted Seth’s calm demeanor even as the police approached.

The grim discovery of the child’s body in Seth’s bag was made by the police at the station. “When asked if the child was her son, she calmly confirmed it,” Mr. John added.

Seth, currently undergoing divorce proceedings, has been a notable figure in the tech world. Her LinkedIn profile lists her as the CEO of Mindful AI Lab and recognizes her as one of the ‘100 Brilliant Women in AI Ethics for 2021’.

The tragic story began on January 6 when Seth checked into the North Goa apartment with her son, only to leave two days later, setting off the chain of events leading to her arrest during the taxi journey.

As this unsettling case unfolds, the child’s father, residing in Indonesia but originally from Kerala, has returned to India to perform the last rites for his son.
